Overkill! … Spearing it doesn’t help unless he can (at least also) catch it.

If he can spear that baseball. He should be pitching not out in center field.

I wouldn’t want to be the catcher when he makes the throw all the way to home to put out the runner. Come to think of it, I wouldn’t want to be the runner that he put out, either!
