I’d be willing to bet that a lot of restaurants do gangbuster business on holidays, so it would make sense for them to be open today and closed tomoro.
I’m surprised that Ernesto would celebrate such a Socialist holiday (BTW Happy Labor Day to all my fellow pinkos!)
