I normally drive because my wife, though an excellent driver, doesn’t like to, especially when we go to a larger city with a whole lot more traffic than we’re accustomed to in our hometown.
If we’re out of town, she acts as the navigator, which leaves me free to concentrate on the road rather than a map app or a paper map. Much safer in my opinion.
Oh c’mon. You’re a MOM, you know how to handle this: 1. ask him to be quiet while you’re driving; 2. tell him you will pull over if he continues to talk; 3. pull over when he continues to talk and tell him next you’re turning around and going home; 4. go home. Actually, in his case, I’d do 1 then skip to 4.

My wife drives much of the time and gets annoyed if the directions her phone gives me aren’t what she remembers, so in those cases, I drive.
