I don’t quite get the joke.

If there’s gonna be a videotape on that tiny console, the class will have to really crowd around it to see.

The only time that I saw a tv in class was for the inauguration of President Eisenhour in 1953. My third grade teacher brought it from home .

What Liz needs now is a shock to bring her to see this romeo.

First romances take time for the individuals to work up the courage to open them selves up to others. Venerability is a hard fear to conquer.

Not telling someone when you are attracted. A strategy employed by many (regardless of age) despite its low success rate.

The only thing I remember from AV when I went to school was a slide projector and a tape recorder. I suppose the overhead projector might count, maybe. I suppose we had a film projector, but only the teachers were allowed to handle it. “We’ve come a long way, baby.”

Liz’s parents were addicted to “slide shows” long after they went out of style.

Awww..love is in the air! Cute stuff! I have totally enjoyed this comic strip for the past 26 years ..I don’t overthink any comic strip..….I just enjoy! .

Don’t worry, Liz is clueless

Others have hinted recently that this guy in the final panel develops into one of the worst characters in the strip’s history. I missed a few of the story arcs back in the day, and don’t remember him at all. Not asking for the details here, in deference to some of the others don’t particularly like spoiler alerts. But all I can say is that he looks pretty inconsequential at this stage.

Ah yes — the dilemma of teen crushes. You desperately wish they would notice you, and are equally terrified of them noticing you!
