We’re getting our very first glimpse of what Gordon will be in a few years! IMHO, I think Gordon had the best success story of all in Mike’s group considering where he came from. I was proud of him, a fictional character at that.
I learned a long time ago, at about Mikes age, not to make an investment in a car, or a place to live expecting my friends to help me “fix it up”. Best to get good stuff and hope they will help you “keep it up”.
The only one who should be driving is Gordon. Brian is walking with his eyes closed in the fourth panel, he should never do that behind the wheel. Michael’s eyes are obscured in the fourth panel. However, that can be fixed, as Michael is overdue for a visit to the barbershop. Michael just needs to get a high and tight, then problem solved!

Our son wanted wheels badly and stated to go that direction. We convinced him to save some more money, shop around and get a good quality used car. He did so and drove that vehicle trouble free all through high school and college. Three months out of college he bought his first house and three months later he bought his first new car.

My first H S car cost $250 in 1963, it ran and was in pretty good shape, at least when I got it. I had two more before I graduated.
