Hard to prove they are not there. Even if you remove the mirror quickly they put the background quicker.

I have always thought people were watching me through the mirror. I make sure to pick my nose thoroughly every time so they can get a good laugh.

Later in the strip Petey is so caught up in his own phobias, he doesn’t have time to tease his sister. Mainly he’s helpful or sarcastic.

Hahaha! Wow. Two things I thought I would never see in this strip! A charming, pleasant face/demeanor from Alice, and a confident, wry lean-in from Petey. Of course, it is his sister, and he is only half kidding, but still, quite the pose. Richard was the best!

A Facebook public safety meme claims that if you place your fingertip against the mirror you can tell if it is a real mirror or a one way mirror/window. If you can see a small space between your fingernail and the reflection then it is a real mirror, if the nail touches its reflection it is a window and someone may be watching or recording you from the other side. Whether this is true or false I don’t know.
