“It’s good to be the king.”

It’s as predictable as the seasons. Every time there is a major event surrounding the British royal family, there is a corresponding wave of questioning the whole concept. There may even be some English who doubt its value. But look at the crowds visiting Buckingham, Balmoral, & Windsor palaces. There will be a line of mourners expected to be long enough to last for thirty hours to walk past her coffin in Westminster Abbey. That tells you why they should and do sustain a royal family.

The Queen was OK, but I can’t take her offspring.

I agree with this comic. Why should a nation take care of a whole family when you have people living in the streets?

I’ve followed Queen Elizabeth II since 1952. Her Coronation in 1953 was black and white TV….

English history caught my eye back then, and have loved it ever since!

To each his own!

I remember in 1953, one of the speeches was she reigns but does not rule. The royalty can work for various causes and be a figure at various functions. They can not make laws and rules. They can not vote. They strictly are figure heads.

The timing of this is curious.

They are too ugly to look at every day, and on plates, mugs, etc.

The King is really crackin’ down on dissenters.
