Call me crazy, but I think Chad has gotten worse and worse as the strip went on. Chad used to be an adorable person who is obsessed with food, and now he is nothing but and add-on to the strip, making practically useless jokes. The Big Nate TV show Chad is so messed up, and actually kind of creepy. He is not adorable in the show, and kind of a crazy person.
