I bet those stares in the Twilight saga were “meaningful gazes”, or some such thing.

    Speaking of staring,

A wife is frying eggs for her husband in the morning. Suddenly the husband appears behind the wife’s back and says:

“Careful, CAREFUL, put more fat in the pan! You’re frying too many at a time. TOO MANY! Flip them! FLIP THEM! Come on! Put more fat in there. Oh dear lord. How are you gonna make space for the fat now, look, they’re sticking to the pan! Careful! Careful now! You never listen to me when I cook! NEVER! Flip them over already. HURRY! ARE YOU CRAZY? Take it easy! EASY! Nooo, don’t forget the salt. Put salt on them, SALT!”

The wife stares at her husband:

“What’s wrong with you? You think I can’t fry a few eggs?”

    The husband answers calmly:

“I just wanted to show you what it feels like when I’m driving.”

A mom takes her daughter to the doctor. The doctor asks, “Okay, what seems to be the problem?”

The mother says, “It’s my daughter Suzie. She keeps getting these cravings, she’s putting on weight and is sick most mornings.”

The doctor gives Suzie a good examination, and then turns to the mother and says, “Well, I don’t know how to tell you this, but Suzie is pregnant. About 4 months would be my guess.”

The mother says, “Pregnant?! She can’t be, she has never ever been left alone with a man! Have you, Suzie?”

Suzie says, “No mom! I’ve never even kissed a man!”

The doctor walks over to the window and just stares out of it.

A few moments later, the mother says, “Is there something wrong out there, doctor?”

The doctor replies, “No, not really. It’s just that the last time something like this happened, a star appeared in the East and three wise men came over the hill with gifts. I’ll be goldarned if I’m going to miss it this time!”

    Until next time.

For sure some Teletubbies visitor was bound to know where the set is once the blindfold was taken off at the location.

Had to look up more info about the Teletubbies fact, and it’s actually pretty interesting. Apparently, the secrecy of the specific set location was for two big reasons:

First, they wanted to reassure the locals, who had already had problems caused by a previous TV shoot.

Second, the press had basically put out a bounty on behind-the-scenes photos, especially ones that showed performers with their costumes partially removed, and the creators didn’t want those images out.

The teletubbies filming was before the age of smart phones, I imagine. With the correct settings, a smart phone can track one’s location and movements quite accurately.

Many movies would be better if the characters just stared at one another.

Take care, may Shakesperian John Wayne impressionist George “Well Tubby Or Not Tubby” Gobord be with you, and gesundheit.

Celluloid does not age well and it burns intensely if it catches fire. Nobody ever thought anyone in the future would be interested either.

In the average 8 part/8 hour streamed TV series, there is an average of 2 hours and 27 minutes of long drawn out scenes where nothing is said or done.

Maybe if you replay the Teletubby shows and listen to their dialogue you can get some clues …

good old fashioned silent film era nitrate film can spontaneously explode if not stored properly.

In a 20th Century-Fox film-storage facility in Little Ferry, New Jersey, United States, on July 9, 1937. Flammable nitrate film had previously contributed to several fires in film-industry laboratories, studios, and vaults, although the precise causes were often unknown. In Little Ferry, gases produced by decaying film, combined with high temperatures and inadequate ventilation, resulted in spontaneous combustion. More than 40,000 reels of negatives and prints burned to ashes inside their film cans.

The creators of Rifftrax stated that it was as if the makers of the Twilight movies were begging them to riff their movies. Someone would speak a line followed by a long pause, perfect for inserting a joke.

And not long ago someone made a documentary about how hundreds of old silent films were discovered in a landfill and surrounding area in Alaska. Most of them were badly decomposed and fragmented, but there were a few gems amongst them.
