My top two books growing up and, remains, Catcher in the Rye and To Kill a Mockingbird,A few years ago I read Harper Lees’ follow up book that had never before been published. It was from Scouts’ perspective as an adult.(Go Set a Watchman)
Poor Petey! His subtle Trick-or-Treating ploy failed, and even worse he has not yet read To Kill a Mockingbird and doesn’t know for whom he was being mistaken.
And Alice’s case is even worse! If Mom is mindful of safety, she will throw out all the unwrapped candy (lest it had been tampered with), and Alice will have to be content with a much-reduced haul….

Better to say Boo Radley than just Boo!

Petey cheer up, in the book and in the movie, Boo Radley ends up as something of a hero; and best of all, a young boy name of Dill…! is a big fan.

“I unwrapped most … candy … faster to eat.” That is just fabulous. How many kids other than Alice Otterloop would ever say that line?

I feel bad for Petey a little. Not only did no one “get” his costume, but he didn’t get what they all thought he was dressed as. Very embarrassing.

Alice has got the right idea.

I can see Petey standing behind doors, when people enter a room.

“To Kill a Mockingbird” will be in movie theaters later this month. I can’t wait!

Or a Boone-Head?

Mom should start to call Petey by the name Arthur (which was Boo’s given name). He’d REALLY hate that!

This never would have happened if he had kept the exclamation mark!!!

Petey fits the character of Boo Radley. Stays in, pale, elusive.

I like Alice’s strategy!

Compared to Petey, Boo Radley is a social butterfly !

Well, I’ve certainly never seen him.
