Ho-Hum, yawn. The nippled arc is in the second panel.

Every bottle in my kitchen is suspicious. They are suspicious of me. I must report them at once.

So the structure still stands when the force affects a car like that at 20 to 30 feet away? That’s a well built house.

Wanna clean up the local highway? Call Homeland Security about all the suspicious cans and bottles in the ditches. Tell ‘em Locher said they were bombs. If Dick Tracy needs to become “famous”, as per Lightbulb Head in panel 2, why would someone want to name a perfume after him?

Is it me, or is it funny that the smoke’s coming from everywhere EXCEPT the chimney?

It’s sad that Locher’s warning people that litter is a terrorist conspiracy, but fails to have people learn from the Doc. Wear safety goggles, and you don’t have to star in a really stupid story about exploding perfume.

“But glasses make you a dork!”

…Good point. FORGET THE GOGGLES, KIDS!

Gobstoppers Snotbag - If you find things that your kid made , (and he’s been holed up in his room making strange concoctions for the past 5 years) you should probably call your least favorite neighbor and have them check it out. Don’t want to lose a hand or anything!

    The boring repeat again….

Is there ANY crime in this story besides the story itself?

What’s the Clampetts’ car doing outside the doc’s house? Did Jethro drive Granny over for some roo-ma-tiz medicine?

I thought both eyes were open when Nubby was mixing the toilet water and he lost the eye in the explosion? He looks different in panel 1 and panel 5.

Where did Fireman Cosgrove get the chin strap? He wasn’t wearing it the other day.

    I guess the snow stopped?

Noll is doing that weird thing…levitating a test tube by touching it with his finger stumps, rather than actually holding it.

Same technique the fire chief uses to hold his radio, and the CIA guy uses to hold his cell phone.

At least no one looks like they have a broomstick stuck across their shoulders, going down their sleeves, making them keep their arms stucj out straight from the shoulder.

    TRACY TRIVIA:

It was January 18th, 1953, that Diet Smith’s invention of the TV criminal “Show-Up” or “Line-Up” went into operation.

The “Line-Up” was now televised to many locations simultaneously. Fifty-six years ago today.

Professor Nutroll’s face for weeks looked like a maniacal Jimminy Cricket. Today in panel one, he looks like a very frightened Jose Jimanez.

So, Noll’s confessing that he did it?

… And, shouldn’t Dick be wary of putting his name on something that hasn’t been independently tested?

So, last week we saw the rear end of a vintage car being lifted off the ground by the explosion, and this week it landed on the side of the house where we could see the front end. One might think an explosion of this magnitude would do a bit more physical damage to the good professor. Not to mention that the final panel for two consecutive Sundays is the same with the exception of the flying/landing car. Great plot progression in just a week I must say.

Sydney: I’m humbled by your interest in me, and a bit unnerved as well. I’ll shoot you a few answers that should satiate your need for information.

As a kid I remember a few of the storylines, but would probably get them wrong if I tried to regurgitate them here. That would have been about 20 years ago, so you can tell me who the writers were - I wasn’t really paying attention. I guess Collins or Killian back then, right folks?

I’m from Omaha, Nebraska. 33 years old. Hmm, my screen name? Well, I just think Dick L. needs a little more respect around here and my “nom de plume” will serve to remind everyone of that. I’m not an artist and I have trouble drawing a bath sometimes (chortle).

Seriously, is the artwork consistent? Maybe not but I am just astounded at what Mr. Locher accomplishes here on top of his editorial cartoons. Pretty good for a septegenarian Iowa boy. I can’t criticize the man.

Sarcastic humor is one thing and I find most of the comments very funny, but I wish people would leave it at that and not accuse DL of being senile or worse. It’s a free country, though - you get to sleep with yourself at night. But somebody’s got to be the voice of concience on this board and that just might be me. Let’s try to talk about the strip and not the great Mr. Locher whose hard work we all enjoy enough to post here (along with the silent thousands who just read our ramblings).

Blame the following on me listening to “Surfer Dan” by the Turtles while reading this strip:

“Everybody’s talking ‘bout Dr. Noll, How he survives explosions with no damage at all! He’s so ripped he can’t see you go by…

Dr. Noll– What a kooky old guy! Anyone can find him, Except the CIA guy … yi, yi!

Oh, everybody’s talking ‘bout Dr. Noll, And how this silly story has no pacing at all! Moving so slow you can’t see progress go by…

Dr. Noll! Dr. Noll! (cough) Dr. Noll (louder cough) Dr. Noll! …”
