It seems that in the comic strip studios the word “FLOP” resonates far more powerfully to convey the degree of damage from a fall than than a mere “splunk” (from 5-05).
Don’t mind that the latter cne came from a long 16 foot, head first fall onto and through a Roulette table, one not cushioned by arms or legs. Surprisingly, it eliciting NO physical damage. Yet the other “fall” (if I can call it that), up from the floor onto the table completely knocked the man out, with puffs of smoke and accompanied with a big noise ” FLOP “ !
From now on, I must remember that “FLOP” signals an unconcious state while a mere “splunk” doesn’t ! It’s the SOUND that conveys the degree of damage, not the height of the fall shown, or even which sensative body part hits the table or ground first !
It’s good to see that DT’s coat morphed again since yesterday. That is real continuity!!
I asked the question yesterday, “what happened to the credit card/bank statement issue?”
I have a feeling that it will never be explained or mentioned again.
In DT land, apparently, no one ever extends their hands to protect their face when they fall. I guess if I had a mug like that, I would not bother protecting it either, but still, it is better than the hands we have seen drawn over the years.
Hmm, Tracy seems to have developed tactile telekinesis, the only superpower which allows you to grab a man in mid-jump-kick, STIFFEN him, twirl him in mid-air like a marionette, and throw him down on the table with explosive force. Wait, even tactile telekinesis doesn’t account for that last bit!
Panel 2 looks like Jack’s being hurled into a vortex, which would be cool but doesn’t suit the gambling theme.
I’ll admit that in Panel 1, Tracy looks better than he did yesterday. But man, I wish I could be giving more substantial compliments than that.
