More than a taste of hiking. That’s 18 miles round trip!

Plan a different loop w/a shortcut if you need it. And make sure at least one of you has a ’phone.

Why did they go outside to tie their shoes? That looks so odd.

Unfortunately, real estate developers don’t build sidewalks in new neighborhoods anymore. I was driving through one recently when I encountered a woman pushing a baby in a stroller walking in the middle of the street because of parked cars along the curb and no sidewalks. I made sure to wait until she went by, but not everyone is going to be so careful.

Is it really hiking if all you’re doing is taking a (long) walk in suburbia?

Plan to Uber back home when you agree 9 miles is too far.

I’d be more worried about human animals mugging or shooting you.

We keep on hiking shoes on a shelf outside the back door. We change out of them when we come home to avoid tracking in debris on our hardwood floors. We don’t ask visitors to take their shoes off when they enter, though; but some people are so focused on this notion that they insist of entering in the socks even though we tell them we wear sandals or shoes indoors ourselves. Anyway, putting on hiking shoes outside makes perfect sense.

9 miles depending on the terrain can be a mind numbing hike. Would rather goout in the country to view nature.

And hiking in nature let us meet a grizzly mama & cubs this summer, but she didn’t want to eat us, just wanted us to get out of the way to where she wanted to eat somethin else

Are they going to take the bus back to home or walk an 18 mile hike?
