C’mon Grandpa, is it a sheepshank, or is it not?

And the knot actually looks like a sheepshank. To me it would be more convincing if grandpa were holding the ends of the rope.

Then there’s the cousin of sheepshank…known as shawshank…

Grandpa did knot mean to get all Mr. Rogers on them.

She sells sheepshank by the sea shore.

And that looks just like Mr. Rogers’s front porch.

Of all the many knots that I know – and as an Eagle Scout & long-time truckdriver, it’s a bunch of them – the sheepshank is the only one with no practical use.

Actually, Fred Rogers rarely asked that question, and really only in the early years of “Mister Rogers Neighborhood.” I have heard him ask it on the show.
