Most of the nursery rhymes are inappropriate for children if you analyze them enough. It looks like Daddy has just about given up on the bedtime story.
There was an old woman who lived in a shoe
Why’d she have so many children, when one or two would do?
My best guess for her second question: They’re adult children who won’t move out. That’s why she treats them so badly.
