For most of my life I loathed boiled spinach. Stunk and looked awful! Then I married and we went to a new place about 30 miles away to try. She ordered a spinach/ cheese dip appetizer. Tried and liked it. Now I can eat spinach raw in a salad, in the dip but still not boiled! She introduced me to so many different, new, good foods. Cauliflower, broccoli, lasagna, cheesecake. I introduced her to sharp and extra sharp cheese like my Dad liked. And German sausages and smoked cheeses. I really miss her lasagna.

The look and smell and previous experiences are often good indicators of whether something will taste good or bad to you.
