I’ve never understood why American’s have to register to vote. All I have to do is give them my ID number and show a photo ID at the polling station, they look me up in a computer and give me a ballot. If I tried to vote again, they would see in the computer that I’d already voted.

the only time you need to mark a party affiliation is if you vote in the primary. if you just register, you don’t have to put down a party.
