I had two male cats who always slept together and groomed each other. We would walk in the redwoods together and none of the three of us would stay separated for long. I’ve never had cats that close since then. It is a rare and beautiful thing.
We’d watch our Lab sleep back when we had her (she died of cancer and old age decades ago)(I still miss her). She’d twitch like she was chasing something, and her lip would lift as she let out these tiny barks. That always woke her up, wondering where that dog was. She’d then realize it was her, looked embarrassed, and went back to sleep. Pax was adorable and so very smart.
