Had a chance to play a pinball machine with my new hubby (the ex now). Waiting for our room with nothing else to do. We played against each other for fun. He wasn’t having as much fun after he found out how good I was :-)
Back in grad school there was a video store downtown that I visited because they had a Terminator II and a Cyclone pinball machine. Felt bad going in just to play games but I wasn’t up for the long walk downtown (and, more particularly, the extremely steep walk back up to campus) more than once a week.
Addams Family, ST:TNG, and Twilight Zone are among our favorites.
There was an annual pinball convention end of July in Philly called RePlay that we went to 6 years ago, but good thing I looked it up first before writing this, because it closed in 2020 due to you know what. I can imagine; we got sick with the flu after we attended! But, the web is saying in Oct ‘21 and ‘22, there was/is a pinball expo near Chicago of over 30 years, but I can’t find if this is the same resurrected expo or not with a move of place and time. But either way, you could have a bonanza weekend of pinball closer to you than Philadelphia! Just WEAR GLOVES while handling the same machines as thousands of others! We were so sick and couldn’t celebrate our August anniversary/birthday!
I follow a few gamers on Twitter (no idea why, haven’t played much in years), and I found out something really amazing – you can BUY PINBALL MACHINES!!!
Now I just need to get rich and get a really big house…

BTW Amanda, I wanted to say I LOVE the color strips! Must be fun to do, but I’m sure it’s a lot of extra work for you as well.

I haven’t played pinball in mumble mumble years. I remember when I learned to tilt. It was a watershed moment. I always had trouble with the flippers.

Zooming out the door is funny, but coming up with “I’ll have all our mail delivered there” is hysterical!

Can imagine the gloves hanging in mid air next to the “whoosh puff”!
