Saw this exact same scenario at a 4-way stop sign at a rather busy intersection-thankfully both drivers that could have hit him stayed where they were…..
I like to open doors for much younger people, and always for a mom with a stroller for her baby. If I get to the door first, I will open it for anyone. Why not? My mom would have held back and waited for a man a few steps back to get in front of her and open a door. Even as a child, I rolled my eyes at that sort of thing.
While working in the San Francisco Financial Dist. I saved a few folks from being road kill. Not one person thanked me and just kept on going. Other ignorant morons bumped into pedestrians on the crowded sidewalks never saying “excuse me.” Some fools walked into poles, newspaper stands, postal boxes. I stopped trying to save idiots from themselves and decided to let the thinning of the herd begin!!!

He probably didn’t realize that he had been helped across the street, and kept on going.

I don’t know how people can walk and focus their attention on a phone. I’m still working on walking and reading a newspaper while crossing the street.

Sweet, but you should have left him to his own devices. How else is “survival of the fittest” supposed to work?

Don’t worry, the people in their cars in traffic were doing the same thing
