We’ve stayed at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park Colorado a couple of times, it really is a beautiful place. Great “haunted” tours with behind the scenes visits. They play up “The Shining” part a lot too, an in-house channel has the movie going 24*7. Just look out for the elk that routinely cause traffic jams around the town.

I had to check. “Overlook Hotel” is the setting of the Kubrick movie (and probably the King book) “The Shining”.
