Red’s mind refuses to get sleepy so Red imagines a squeaky toy to keep him awake.

Today’s strip follows on from yesterday’s very nicely.

Not for long, the Border Collie will either break or remove the squeaky in the toy. Mine make it their goal to remove the squeaky maker. Yip yip yip yip yip

Our granddog Bella is a Feist Terrier, (large amts of rat/vermin-hunting dog genes, it’s a genre, not a breed). It is her personal duty, to see to it, that squeakers are removed, stuffing is disemboweled & the remains are thoroughly shaken & violently thrown across the room/against the wall. The latter being how they kill vermin: get it by the neck, violently shake it until it goes limp, then chuck it into a wall to finish the job. Most loving, intelligent lil ball of energy you ever wanna meet.

I feel the pain of lack of sleep. I flapped around for hours last night. I really envy people who say, “I sometimes fall asleep before my head hits the pillow.” I have never had that pleasure.

The squeaky toy always gets the teeth.

Border collies don’t want or need squeaky toys. They have sheep.

Or, if he is like my Labrador, he snores.

And Rover can’t get to sleep because he has a squeaky human.

Don’t think just try to drift off.
