Back when I was stationed in Alaska, trick-or-treaters would come by dressed in parkas since it was well below freezing. No way to tell what they were, and they probably weren’t wearing costumes anyway. (This was back in 1982 so all those kids are middle age today.)
I lived in northern Vermont when my kids were little. We often “trick or treated” in raincoats or parkas – the kids didn’t care and I got a portion of their candy. Still one of my favorite days of the year!
One Halloween in Minneapolis, it started to snow before the kids came around, and when the snow reached 2’ high, the kids stopped coming. Boy, that was scary.
Where I live in Canada, our first major snowstorm almost always hits on Oct 31, so every little Halloweenie is bundled up in a parka, mitts, and toque!
One Halloween it was raining and one kid had a huge umbrella he was having trouble holding. So, I held his umbrella and let him pick the candy he wanted.
