There are wolves in Alaska that live on almost nothing but mice! The movie “Never Cry Wolf” has some scientific and quite amusing evidence. So maybe our urban coyote just needs a new comeback line!
San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park gets visited by coyotes. It’s narrow and long, with one end at the ocean and ALL of the long sides against housing. It’s a wonder how they get themselves so deeply into human terrain. My brother has a Ring camera in his back yard and showed me a video of a coyote on the walkway toward his back yard. In the hills around our valley coyotes take pets from yards if there’s an opportunity. One came into a woman’s home through an open patio door and took her dog. It was a lot faster than her – she couldn’t free her dog from its grip. Wildlife is adapting to our incursions.
