I’ve had to do that, at times!!!

The possum comedian has an act that just road-kills ‘em!

We have Pricilla the Possum on our property. We used to call her Pete, but then one day we noticed a bunch of babies hanging off her.

She eats tics and other bugs we don’t like, so we keep her around. When my cat was alive, they were good friends.

Once, an ancestor of hers was traipsing by at dawn when our dog noticed it. He ran up to sniff it and the animal did what it was supposed to do. I’ve read that when they play dead, they emit an odor or rotting meat. I guess predators think if it doesn’t smell good, it probably doesn’t taste good.

I don’t know if that’s what dissuaded our dog, or if it was “Well, I wanted to play, but if you’re going to do that, forget about it.” He took a couple of sniffs and walked away.

That routine slayed them at Wildwood Cemetery!

No seriously, I really just died. We do that sometimes, you know.

To the roadkill possum, “You come here often?”Possum: “Just once.”

The comedian killed that night.
