Which is the big difference between our system and theirs, something many westerners simply do not understand. In the Muslim world, there is a perfect union between church and state. The established religion and the government are one and the same.
The differences are (1) no one religion dominates enough to establish a theocracy here and (2) very few Christian denominations are “into” trying to set up a theocracy. It goes against the grain of most Americans to allow such a thing to start!
Plus the fact that the western world has already experimented with Theocracy and found it doesn’t work. That was in Medieval Europe, with the Emperor in charge of State and the Pope in charge of Church. This led to too many problems until the system collapsed.
