Links had such excellent attention to background details, and a ability to present accurate perspective. Her lines are clean and straight, as in a draftsman drawing. They provide an interesting contrast to the elongated figures of the teenagers, as if the young people were yet to fit into the rigid real-world perspectives. It is admirable and distinctive in a way panel cartoons these days aren’t normally stylized.
Yes! She drew in a cartooned way, but so that everything looked realistically satisfactory. Also, I just noticed the curlicues on the lampshade; Charles Schulz did that sometimes too, maybe about this time, 1962. I haven’t noticed it on anyone else’s work before.
