These comics have that look of being cut out of an issue of the San Francisco Chronicle from the 50’s when I first started reading about Emmy Lou. Marty Links was from the Bay Area and was one of the first female syndicated cartoonists. So nostalgic!

Part of my affection for this cartoon is that it so greatly resembled a family down our street — except there were three daughters like Emmy Lou!
