—Does that civil war cannon over her right shoulder mean Annie is in some small town in a southern state?—

Quite likely, considering that she was probably trying to head down Mexico way the last time she had anything to do with choosing a direction.

I think she’s in northwest US. She was flying down from Alaska, and not long into her flight when the poop hit the fan.

Anyone else find it odd that there’s no one else around? No other people on the street? Noticed it yesterday, too.

The calm before the storm? Feel the tension in the air. No people, eh? A valid observation, but is it a story element or just an artist’s simplification? THE SUSPENSE!!

(The cannon on the courthouse steps is a tradition across much of the country, including New England. But we’ll probably never be told just where this is.)

There is some uncertainty regarding how long she was aboard the aircraft before she bailed. There were conflicting time cues. The bomb could have gone off almost anywhere on the portion of the flight path that was over the U.S. mainland.

After she jumped from the aircraft, she was driven across more than one state line by the torpedo. After escaping from the hospital, she took a bus ride, which was interrupted by the jewel smugglers. She then hitched a ride with the trucker, which was interrupted by the accident. Each of the plane, bus, and truck rides were long enough for her to want a nap.

After the accident, she floated down river for hours. We weren’t given any time cues about how long she was aboard the train.

When I was learning to fly, I was lost and landed at an airport, went to the pay phone, opened the directory and found the name of the town. Fortuneatly, it was where I wanted to land, but I wasn’t real sure.
