Sad thing is that now days, pants actually fashionably cost more if they come with holes….
I remember those “iron-on” patches.
I use thise iron-on patches on pockets. My keys and pocket knife wear the pockets out long before the pants wear out…that is until I went to Duluth.
My mother would do actual mending stitches in lieu of patching. When iron-on patches became available she tried them out but was disappointed.
My wife patches my jeans. Hard to find good Levi’s anymore. Same sizes , different fits. Either too tight or too loose.
also had to wear ’em with 4" of leg rolled up when they were new
