The picture in today’s NY Times Vertex game (a variation on connect-the-dots) came out as a rather handsome rendition of a turkey (the live version, not the blue-plate special). The title of the puzzle, however, was “Happy Day,” and I found myself thinking, “For who?” Then it occurred to me that any turkey that’s still alive and clucking does indeed have reason to be thankful today.
