Had a dalmation once, always straining on the leash, the only thing trainable is telling them to eat their dinner.

Years ago I had a big dog (Irish Woodle) that I leashed 2 Cairn Terriers to and he walked them for me. I was with them, hands free.

Over the years, every dogs I had (from purebred to mix, Border Collie to Husky, and little to gigantic) I trained to walk at my pace on or off leash, and to greet people by sitting. I wasn’t strict, I used positive reinforcement. The dogs got to run at their pace most of the day. Yip yip yip yip yip

My dog the same. And she really gets annoyed when she is on fast and I am on slow.

My dog is no problem. My adult child has always had two speeds – high and off. She used to fall asleep in the living room reading and I would wake her up and ask her how she did that. I had decades of being a chronic insomniac. After seeing 3 sleep drs, and going up the drug scale, I finally – not literally – grabbed the third one and told him to stop trying to drug me and teach me to sleep! He did. Then I wondered why he didn’t do that for other people?

I don’t think the word “heel” is in Kenny’s lexicon.
