definition of a suburb: a place where they cut down all the trees, and then name the streets after them.

Not humour anymore, gory reality of man-animal-nature conflict

Definition of a golf course, too. Eliminate the trees; then plant a lot of high maintenance grasses and a few spindly sticks.

The first thought I had was that 200 acres of orange groves were cut down to make room for the construction of Disneyland.

Over the years, Disneyland has earned top awards from various organizations including the American Society of Landscape Architects, American Horticulture Society and almost every other international horticultural, botanical, and arboreta organization.

One hundred acres were cut down to construct The World Famous San Diego Zoo which is as well known for its horticulture as it is for its collection of animal species.

In fact, the zoo is internationally recognized and accredited as a world-class botanical garden featuring over 700,000 exotic plant species.

Disney World in Florida only uses about 1/3 of its land for the park. The other 2/3 are wildlife sanctuary.

Joni Mitchell lyrics come to mind…. “They paved paradise & put up a parking lot”. Catchy tune - in my mind I think I hear the sounds of ….. They Dooo What What They Dooo What What What What…. well you know how some folks mess up the lyrics ;-))

and people wonder why Gods creatures are going into our urban areas these past several years, keep on building houses after clear cutting out forests

Leave the trees. The jobs are no longer expanding. Just use some foreclosed space. We need the air.

I know a guy who lives on Elk Creek Lane in Las Vegas. I doubt there is a creek plus an elk within 500 miles.
