I haven't raised the subject with my sister, wife or brother-in-law(2) since, because the exchange seems so odd that I feel disconnected to the entire episode, as though something I understand so poorly must not really involve me." (2)Actually, I haven't spoken to my brother-in-law since the dinner, and when we do speak, it's invariably about sports: he's a tremendous fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, even though he's never lived near Pittsburgh.
