Anne’s not wrong, though. $20 for a plate of spaghetti, and I can’t even enjoy it because the whole time I’m thinking even if I had to buy all the ingredients, I could still do this for $2 at home.
Right, but you’re paying someone else for labor and for the experience, so you can relax and enjoy time with your daughter. But it seems that she isn’t going to relax unless she does it herself, so just do what makes Mom happy.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Thursday! Have a great day, all!
Honestly, once in a while it’s worth the money to have someone else cook for me and clean up after. I get tired of TV dinners, even with the wide variety available now.
Exactly what it was like in a restaurant with my Mom, except she waited until we were eating the food. She actually loved going to restaurants, she just couldn’t stop feeling guilty about the money we were “wasting.”
Now I mostly go to the Deli and get nice, hot meals there to take home. Still expensive, but cheaper than a restaurant. Yesterday, I had stuffed cabbage and mashed potatoes for $12.
6 loaves of bread for 7.95? I don’t think bread was that inexpensive even back when this strip was originally published. Of course by that time all the local bakeries had shut down (owners retired and kids did not want to take over the business) and we had to buy our bread at the grocery chain stores after it had been baked in Toronto and shipped up here by truck. Still works that way although I heard rumours that someone was going to open a local bakery.
Got an extra day to read comics as we are not heading out until later this afternoon.

For once, the mother of our favorite Whack-a-Doodle makes perfect sense. What is this world coming to?! Ha.
HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.
