I liked the Catholic religion; I had a problem with the Catholic Church. It seemed too tied up with ritual. It seemed more focused on form rather than function.
I needed a religion that got people more involved in serving one another than serving the church.
I admit, I got it backwards: serve man then God. God is beyond my comprehension. So the next best thing I can do is serve his creation, especially that part called people. There are no specific rituals I have to go through to do that.
Not just the bishops. The ignorant Republicans have gained a teeny, tiny majority in the House and plan to destroy the country now that they have 2 years to do so.
Two Archbishops who are loyal to the Church and the Holy Father. One of which leads the oldest See in the US (as FL was still Spanish territory) and the other leads the largest Diocese in both number of Catholics and geography. Both are pro-life, pastoral, and care for their flock. One serves as the Chaplain for the Knights of Columbus, the other was a diplomat. Only naysayers are likely readers of the secular publication NcR. A publication that is openly hostile towards members of the Armed Forces and the Family Members who serve with them and know for its dissent from Christianity as a whole. I have been serving for 30 years, never read anything positive from NcR about Catholics, Protestants, or the military.
Who’s this Jesus guy? He’s a Republican I bet. Cause you know….they’re going to take over and ruin our lives! I’d be a Catholic but it’s the darn rituals. Who do they think they are? And all these rules! And this Francis comic! Sheesh….do you think the writer has an agenda. Hmmmm……yes he does.At least Francis has his head on the real issue. Climate change! Oops…my tongue is stuck on my cheek.

I don’t like the arch-conservative direction many Roman Catholics in the US are taking.

It’s not rumbling thunder; it’s gun shots.

The American Bishops do not march to one Church or one Spirit!
