Oh my goodness, why fight what you may want/need? Just evaluate what is important to you, see what is available, and then try it? Look at the many people driving mini vans who never thought they’d be driving one. I like the stickers that some of them put on, like “No shame in my van game. #NeverSayNever” or “Add this to the list of things I said I’d never do” :-D
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Monday! Have a great day, all!
The idea of a continually distracting center panel, which must be looked at and touched in specific places will soon become passe. Some car makers like Volkswagen and BMW are already offering touchscreen-less alternatives. I like to be able to change the radio station without looking at a screen. Moving displays are distracting. Bright, shiny objects that you must “caress” are the epitome of “distracted driving” syndrome. Why are they in cars? Cheapness. Until you have to replace one that is no longer made.
So why not just buy the sports car? – other than affordability of course.
I agree with mistercatworks my 2010 had a control console that looked like it could be at home in a 747 but I could adjust anything I needed without looking at it. My 2018 has a large touchscreen that cannot be used without looking at it – and is WAY to slow to respond. Of course I could use the voice commands but even they do not work as smoothly as the 2010. For some reason Honda took a giant leap backwards in the design of their instrument panel – and other things. I have a list of things to check for improvements when I purchase my next car – which will be soon as this one is frustrating to operate.

Had my new car for a year and haven’t figured out the whole control panel yet.

No car for me living in Mexico City. Either I walk to where I want to go, or take a taxi, or public transportation.
