When we purchased my Pilot back in 2018 I allowed the salesman to propose a lease. When he finished I pointed out that when the lease expired I would have paid over half the value of the car. In that same time if I make payments (I don’t – I always pay in full) for the same amount I would own over half the value of the car and could sell it to someone else (I never trade in cars anymore – they never offer close to the true value), pay off the balance. and use the rest of the money as a down payment on a new car. He smiled, agreed, and thanked me for allowing him to present the lease option as he got points for doing so. As far as not having to worry about the cost of repairs within the lease period – if the vehicle will require repairs within the warrantee period that are not covered by the warrantee then that vehicle is definitely not worth purchasing.
Please enjoy this fine Thursday (It is Thursday isn’t it? I seem to have misplaced a day or two in the last week)

It just depreciated by 70% and that’s before all the recalls.

To many words. If I have to listen to all that I think I’ll just go home and wait for you to call me with a better offer.

You’ll think about it every month when you make those high payments.
