Ouch this one is personal. I do have the same issues with paper as my mom did. I am trying to make things digital, but I am a visual person and I do like seeing things. I’m getting better though, now that I have some time to go through things.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Friday! Have a great day, all!
My parents were both meticulous about filing things away properly. Wish I had inherited that gift – I have too many piles that need filing – but I begrudge the time spent filing when I can be doing something more fun – like searching the piles for what I need right now.
Have a fun Friday and a great weekend especially if you have a long weekend too.
This was my office several years ago: magazines, newspaper articles, etc., just laying around in neatly stacked piles all over the place — on my desk, on bookshelves, on the floor — just waiting for me to “get around to” whenever I had the time (which I never seemed to have).
After watching a few episodes of “Hoarders” and knowing that we were going to be moving within the next couple of years, I decided it was finally time to MAKE the time to get it done. It took me what seemed like forever but I eventually got through every last pile ….. throwing away or recycling what I no longer wanted/needed and neatly filing away what I did. It was so nice having a really well-organized office for the remainder of my time there, plus it made it a whole lot easier to pack everything up when we were finally ready to move too.

Hi, rgcviper! :-)
.
Hello and Happy Friday, fellow “Cathy” fans. Hope you all had a really nice day today! ♥
I have much the same problem mostly because I hate to file. And because of my teaching days, I have so much stuff that needs to be shredded and that takes a lot of time.
Yup—I, too, am guilty of holding onto stacks of paper and stuff. I just came across some today, and hope to go through it soon. Though, I (and my dad/a friend) did put together a new set of drawers that will help me file a lot of stuff. Along with a bedroom dresser that was a [fill in the blank] to assemble, but I’m going off topic …
