Electra’s got you well trained, Cathy. Although too many treats are not good for her, so be a good dog parent and stop. Teach her some cute tricks instead. (Btw, she seems to already know “beg” :-))

Hello Cathy friends! Happy November! Have a great day, all!

Skinner’s original experiments showed that “training” worked better if the reward was sometimes not given. It causes the subject to review actions to see if something was missed, which reinforces learning.

All this does is make the dog fatter. In a comic all you do is erase a few lines. In life you have a fat dog for the rest of its life.

Considering the amount of exercise that Electra seems to get plus all the treats it is a wonder her stomach is not touching the ground. Of course the same could be said for Cathy – and for the same lack of self control.

Sunshine today! Yea. Not far above freezing but the sun is shining. I hope your day is sunny too.

Please stop, Cathy. You may think you’re being a good pet-parent by continuously giving Electra her favorite treat for the “arf-ing” to show her how much you love her, but given how pudgy she already is due to the lack of proper exercise on your part, all you’re going to get is a fat, sick dog instead ….. and that’s just plain cruel. Please be kind by cutting down on the treats and take her for more walks around the neighborhood. It’ll be a lot better, and much more beneficial health (as well as weight)-wise, for the BOTH of you!

Yeah—you have to draw the line somewhere, with the treats. While one every now and then can be good, too many can lead to lousy news.

Wow. That became far more serious than I’d planned. So, for fun, let’s toss in an [eye-roll], a [face-palm], and a [head-desk]. Three for the price of one!

    HI, MOM. Hello, “Cathy” Clan.
