Every woman should learn this rule: Never shop with a man! They’re always in a hurry. Never want to actually shop but just get in, find what they want, buy it and get out. (I know there are exceptions to this, and some women are just as impatient) But Cathy is really getting ridiculous. Reminds me of a friend I had once. She spent 2 hours shopping in a hospital gift shop dithering about buying this or buying that. I was like Irving, just buy it already!
I acknowledge that, sometimes, thinking about what you’re gonna buy can be a good thing. However, in today’s comic, I’m more on Irving’s side since, as is often the case, comic Cathy takes things to the (◔_◔) – ing extreme.
I second the (◔_◔) from rgcviper and throw in another for good measure. Unfortunately, for me, the way my wife shops is pretty close to the way Cathy shops.
I also second the wish for a hassle free Sunday from RonnieAThomson
Now we know why Irving was smiling when he was shopping with Lydia (on Nov. 28-29): she isn’t a total nut-job while she does it like Cathy is ….. which makes me wonder why he even asked her to go shopping with him to begin with? After all, this is Cathy we’re talking about. They’ve been dating off and on for years so he HAD to know something like this was going to happen. And if he says he didn’t, well, then, he clearly wasn’t paying anywhere near as much attention to her during those “on” periods of time as he should have been! (◔_◔)

I have absolutely no problem with “thinking about it”. Your lips can even move during the process. However, no sound should come out.
She’s not really asking for or respecting his opinion, she just wants him to hear her brain rattling around.
It is rude and disrespectful to ramble on as though it were an actual conversation, especially in a public place where he cannot politely leave.
