Oww, I think I hurt myself. I’m too old to be rolling around on the floor laughing. Just this week we were speculating on imaginary friends having imaginary friends, and here he is. Seagull peeking through window. If he was there, he probably went into shock!

This makes Wallace’s imagination seem tame by comparison. Bigfoot I can handle, imaginary friends with imaginary friends is definitely pushing the envelope.

I prefer my Reuben with cole-slaw to sauerkraut. Usually they make the saurkraut too juicy.

For those who want to avoid infinite regressions (and don’t mind a little math): Map real and imaginary friends into the set { R, P }, where R is the set of real integers and P is the set of pure imaginary integers (i.e., no complex numbers in either set). Create the mapping such that each real friend is represented by a unique integer in R and each imaginary friend is represented by a unique number in P. Now if the nth imaginary friend has an imaginary friend (call him the mth imaginary friend) the relationship can be given by (n*i) * (m*i), which is equal to n*m*(-1), which is a real number. The imaginary friend of an imaginary friend is a real person. Note that under this operation, a real friend of a real friend is a real person and an imaginary friend of a real friend is an imaginary person, which fits with our intuition. Therefore, we have shown that an infinite regress is not required to explain imaginary friends of imaginary friends. QED.
