Pigeon’s expression in panel 3. :_( Everyone likes to be recognized. On the other wing, birds are hard to tell apart from a human’s standpoint. I have a flock of Stellar Jays that come to my feeders. Some have crests like mohawks; some lie flat unless they want to raise them; some have two peaks. But I am never sure…, especially after molting season.
You can 100% see the same magpie repeatedly, because it will remember you, and either tolerate you or attack you depending on how the previous interactions have gone. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen the same pigeon on occasion though,
Some species of birds can recognize faces, Crows and Ravens can remember up to 50. I would imagine any of the corvids such as Jays can do the same. Poultry are capable of recognizing their keepers, I don’t doubt Pigeons have the same ability as well.

Random thought: many phrases we use put birds in a poor light, or are these just the ones that come to my mind. Can you think of any positive ones?
Bird brain, chicken, turkey lips, stool pigeon, head in the sand (ostrich- untrue, of course,) albatross around the neck, dead as a dodo….
Although… bluebird of happiness, graceful as a swan,…

it’s ok, many of us that do recognize, often are overly concerned our recognition will be taken as a form of interference.
