Go to Walmart, get a fake tree and return it after the holidays. I’ve seen it done!

The Wizard seems to agree with his wife much more than he used to. However, it can also be a sign that he realises that his wife makes far more sense than the king.

Which brings up the question: why don’t they transplant the largest possible tree, and let it grow right in Rockafeller Center? After all, A Tree Grows In Brooklyn.

Recently they have preferred trees which were scheduled for removal for other reasons. At least, that is the PR spin.

A good justification for those fake trees.

Great idea. Plant it and keep it. Light it up for years to come. Well done wiz.

Used to buy a plant in a pot, use for for several Xmas’ until it grew too large, planted it and bought its successor. My favorite was a Yaupon when I lived in Texas, had bright red berries and evergreen glossy leaves for winter cheer.

Aren’t real trees better for the environment because they’re organic and biodegradable? Aren’t fake trees worse for the environment upon disposal because they’re plastic?

The horse appears to disagree with “humanely sourced.” Those are some tiny wheels to give the horse some assistance.

I was just in NYC last week. Saw the tree, which ironically came from a town near me.

The amazing thing about this strip is that there’s almost a horse collar and lines that go from it to the wagon!

I’ve had a fake tree for years. The funny thing was just after i was married i bought a 6 foot tall tree on sale after the holidays. I brought it home, shoved it into a closet and we waited until the next year when the 6 foot tree kept going up and up and up. It was over 7 foot tall, they’d given me the wrong tree and charged my for the smaller one. oops

When I worked at Lowe’s, I would buy a kerosene heater and a 2-gallon container of kerosene in the early winter, and return them in the spring. This was back when there was no time limit on returns (when I stopped working there after 8 years, I returned a bunch of stuff that I hadn’t used for one reason or another, and since I had the receipts, got all my $$$$ back).
