Sort of like Calvin writing “yellow-bellied sap sucker” in five square for his crossword whose one certain clue was “bird.”

I only do 6-star sudoku and occasional level 4 and 5 samurai sudoku puzzles—-where you only have to read the numbers 1 thru 9.

My medicine bottles sport the smallest font possible and smear-able ink. At the prices they get you think it would have a voice chip and Bluetooth reminders.

Sometimes you have to look at the other numbers on the grid to figure it out.

Gotta use a pen. Not enough contrast between newsprint and pencil as you get older.

Had a large print crossword puzzle I was working on in a doctord waiting room. Lady sitting next tome asked, “Eye sight problem?” I replied, “No, I can’t write the letters small enough to fit in the squares any more.”

Happens on some of these comics as well. Just because technology means they can print in size 2 font does not mean they should.

Yes, it is called the mystery of the disappearing 12 size Arial font designed after extensive testing specifically for computers. Microsoft thought they could increase profit using 10, 8, and 6 size courier new font.

I like to do anacrostics/crostics – and in the puzzle grid area each blank square contains a tiny printed letter and a number – to refer back to the word list you have filled in above. Picture a tiny square with a letter and 1 to 3 digit numbering system and different font sizes on each puzzle grid and still leave enough room to add your appropriate letter answer. But I still enjoy them.

Local tabloid is pretty good but sometimes crams a large NYT puzzle onto half a page. Curses ensue. :)
