I want to hug Venus, and not for the usual reason.

Self-love is not a sin in itself. If others love you, why not validate their sentiment?

It’s also been said that to truly love others, you must first love yourself.

If, as Heinlein said, “Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own”, then self-love is an endless loop.

Oh dear, Venus needs a hug.

Although Shakespeare wrote the words, he put them into the mouth of a jerk, the Dauphin who sent the tennis-balls to Henry V as an insult, putting in motion the train of events that leads to Agincourt, the ruin (for a generation) of France, and his own disinheritance.
