I want to hug Venus, and not for the usual reason.

Self-love is not a sin in itself. If others love you, why not validate their sentiment?

It’s also been said that to truly love others, you must first love yourself.

If, as Heinlein said, “Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own”, then self-love is an endless loop.

Although Shakespeare wrote the words, he put them into the mouth of a jerk, the Dauphin who sent the tennis-balls to Henry V as an insult, putting in motion the train of events that leads to Agincourt, the ruin (for a generation) of France, and his own disinheritance.

Leave it to Karma to ask a leading question!

And leave it to Venus to become confused!

Or, just Leave It to Beaver.

Is Karma making Venus cry going to give Karma some Bad karma?

    It’s almost Zen.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. — 1 Corinthians 13:4-6 New International Version.
