It’s not really safe for small kids inside your sewing room. You have a cord hanging down, the razor-sharp cutting wheels, and your pin cushion full of needles, somebody’s going to get hurt. Where is Farley when you need him?
I don’t sew. But I do have power tools. One of the first top ten rules — if you have to go away somewhere, for whatever reason, turn the tools off! If possible, unplug. If portable, place out of reach of little ones. You never know when someone might accidentally do something with one of them.
Ah, when a small child finds something that makes a fun noise. :-D I remember when my baby brother discovered the record collection. They were on a shelf near the floor. He discovered that if he took them out of their sleeves and put them on the floor, they made a GREAT noise when he skidded them around on the floor. Needless to say, my parents were not nearly as amused as he was, and the surviving records were quickly moved to a much higher bookshelf.
When the time comes Elizabeth will be a better parent, having learned from this experience. Hopefully in the short term she has a good seam ripper, a steady hand, and patience, lots of patience.
It’s not entirely clear from the perspective of the first three panels but it kind of looks like the foot pedal is too far from the machine for Liz to use it easily?

I’m confused. Is April gassy, or does she need a diaper change?

One person’s excitement is another person’s distress, alright. Love the infectious excitement on April.

It’s your own fault for placing it where the baby can reach it!
