My Thomas used to do that for me. Every afternoon 4 pm about, a pair of chipmunk hind legs would be on the back porch next to Tom. I would let him in and give him a can of food to eat. Funny, he would not come in until I picked up the legs and then he would come on in.
My cat Kirby (pictured as my avatar) was a master hunter but purely for sport. He only ate kibble. However, his buddy Johnny Depp would eat whatever Kirby left lying around. A good team.
Years ago I stayed at a B&B where the owner had 3 cats; one of whom was so enamored, he brought a bird he’d caught for me and dropped it outside my bedroom door. The poor owner apologized all over the place; which wasn’t necessary. I reciprocated by gifting him a catnip toy. Seriously thought that handsome fellow was going to get into my suitcase; I’ve often wondered how my 3 would’ve reacted to a new brother!
