I have a hitchhiker’s thumb and small hands. I was a product tester for a software company once designing a smart phone keyboard app. I couldn’t use it with my thumbs. I have to hold the phone in one hand and poke one-finger style. Even then, I hit the wrong key 1/3 of the time. They were not happy with the outcome. I do speech-to-text when I can and try to avoid texting or anything else on the phone. I can use a regular desktop computer keyboard just fine.
The real muscular part of the thumb is in the palm part of thumb (or is it the thumb part of the palm). Tendons extend from the muscles to the proximal and distal phalanges (bones) of the thumb. The end of the thumb should not bulk up with muscle tissue.
