Sometimes, there are just more important things to do.
Like when a reporter asked President Biden fairly recently why he would come to Arizona and not visit the border, the president said visiting the border is not a priority. "Because there are more important things going on,” he said.
Has the President been playing Wordle? Do you suppose he’s playing it on the beach in St. Croix?
Just so Doug K knows, the President should NOT have gone to the border. THAT is a political stunt, something about which the GOP knows a great deal. In fact, that’s pretty much all they do. In fact, a president doesn’t need to GO to a border in order to act on the issues affecting the border. But in the end, most of the issues that cause people to flee their homes in a desperate and dangerous attempt to escape intolerable conditions — haven’t been dealt by successive administrations. And most of those conditions are directly attributable to US policies over the past 50 years or so. If we helped break their societies, we have an obligation to help fix them — and in the process, reduce the flow of asylum seekers.
Just bad inflation in the last 40 years. I’m old enough to remember the Nixon recession, over 40 years ago. If we could get the corporations to stop jacking up the prices, we’d have practically no inflation to speak of.
The concept of Wordle isn’t original. It has its roots in the game show, Lingo, which CBS is reviving on January 11. You can learn all about that show here:
Yeah amazing how EVERYONE was distracted despite these hurdles. Some of the distracted actually think we’re doing better than before. Coke must be one heck of a drug to believe that.
The New York Times just had an article about all of the good news stories that people are ignoring, like the murder rate dropping drastically this year.

And not a single mention of COVID. Interesting how it really has become endemic.

I’m big on word games, but Wordle bores me. Too quick and easy.
